Facebook's Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg lost her husband Dave on May 1st. Her boss Mark Zuckerberg has come out to strongly support her and his message was priceless.

"Your ability to find meaning and clarity is deeply inspiring. You're an amazing person, and we're all here with you to help you kick the shit out of option B," Mark commented.

Mark has been known to be a humble guy; from being simplistic in his clothing style to driving a relatively cheap car. He's proven it over and over again since his rise to be one of the most successful CEOs in the world.

Sheryl's husband Dave Goldberg was on a treadmill in a hotel in Mexico when he tripped, fell on his back and injured his head badly. He died shortly thereafter while being rushed to the hospital.

Being a Judaist, his wife Sheryl has been through a 30-day-mourning period called sheloism. It's been one of the most difficult times she's had to go through in her life.

"Today is the end of sheloshim for my beloved husband—the first thirty days. Judaism calls for a period of intense mourning known as shiva that lasts seven days after a loved one is buried. After shiva, most normal activities can be resumed, but it is the end of sheloshim that marks the completion of religious mourning for a spouse," Sheryl let the words trickle from the bottom of her soul.

Dave was the founder of LAUNCH Media and CEO of Survey Monkey until his death. When Sheryl got to know that he had passed on, this is what she said. "Dave was my rock. When I got upset, he stayed calm. When I was worried, he said it would be ok. When I wasn’t sure what to do, he figured it out. He was completely dedicated to his children in every way – and their strength these past few days is the best sign I could have that Dave is still here with us in spirit."

Sheryl was Vice President of Global Online Sales and Operations at Google prior to joining Facebook in 2008. She's since made close friends with Mark Zuckerberg.

Mark's humane nature can be seen in his project to make Africa more connected to the internet. Through Internet.org, he's bringing free basic internet access to less connected nations by partnering with lead telecoms. Facebook has already partnered with Airtel in Kenya. If you notice, you get invite to browse for free to on the Airtel network.
