Cleophas Malala who was also a close buddy of Makaka took to his social media to pay his tribute.

'It is with profound sadness of heart that I have learnt the untimely demise of a friend and a brother ALLAN MAKAKA.

Our friendship spans from the days when we were both pupils at St. Peter's Mumias Boys Primary and later at UNITED STATES INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY.

Our mutual love for Rugby cemented our closeness even as he ventured into professional Rugby.'

Adding

'Allan has stood with me on my political journey, offering invaluable pieces of advice.

He would temporarily suspend his duties whenever I visited Royal Media Services where he worked just to come support me. He kept in touch more like a brother.

Shine on your way brother. Rest in Eternal Peace.'
