Malik Lemmy known to many as Govi for his role in Machachari has blamed the Kenyan entertainment industry for not supporting their own.

In a long social media post, Govi said that he and other child actors/actresses have been failed by the same society that was supposed to protect and support them.

Partly in the post, he says,

'You all loved us when we were at the top, when we were winning awards and entertaining you all on your screens..

most of you were eager to see us doing interviews and going for shows.

BUT when all that stopped you started hating on these child stars..

we grew up knowing that you were the ones to hold us up even at our lowest points but growth showed us different.

Criticising, hating, abusing to say the least became part of the norms on our side

Not even one person has ever reached out to offer support in any way to these child stars.'

Baha formerly of Machachari responded,

'WE STRONG BREDDAH ✊🏾✊🏾💥'

To which Govi added,

'forever bro...we got ourselves.'

Fellow Machachari actor mtesi_the_king added,

'True words bro 👊💪n we will be back 🙏🙏.'

Below are some reactions from Kenyans.

'I'd like to take this opportunity to say sorry on behalf of all Kenyans who have abused and looked down on you in any way.

It's the worst thing one can do to anyone who was once their greatest source of entertainment. I agree we should be supporting you i.e those who can and encourage you to be stars like you were before.

We all have our down moments, we all fail in one way or another, but that doesn't mean we cannot rise up. So guys do not listen to the negative voices.'

Adding,

'Do not conform to societal's expectations of you being stable or millionaires or hollywood stars at your age. We all need time to grow. Growth doesn't come in a day.

Give yourselves time to grow, you are still very young. Work on yourselves mdogo mdogo.'

Another fan added,

'It takes courage to speak up and I salute you Malik for speaking up and making us Kenyans realize our mistakes the only thing we do is criticize rather than support, I hope and pray that your cry reach out to each and everyone 😍😍😍'

Also

'This so touching, God will never fail to be there for His children no matter what .

We love and care about you all the machacharis some us still support you guys.'
