Here is a list of prominent politicians who switched careers from journalism to politics. Check out the list of the personalities who managed to do it successfully.

Raphael Tuju - He joined Kenyan politics in 2002 after working as a TV producer and real estate investor. The 61-year-old has served in the government since then in various positions such a cabinet secretary and Jubilee Secretary-General and many others.

Sabina Chege - she started off as a television actress and a radio presenter she even featured in a song by the late John de Matthew. She, later on, ventured into politics and is currently the woman representative for Muranga county.

Granton Samboja - he studied journalism at the Kenyan Institute of Mass Communication. He was also a radio presenter on Classic 105.  He is currently the governor of Taita Taveta county and he is the first member of the fourth estate to become a governor.

Mohammed Ali - he worked at KTN as an investigative reporter and is known for his gripping investigative on Jicho Pevu. He eventually ventured into politics and is currently the Nyali MP.

Gathoni wa Muchomba - she started out as a radio presenter and now  she is the woman representative of Kiambu county
