Coke Studio Africa Season 3 came to an end last evening, with exemplary performances from the finest musicians from all over the continent. There was a recap of the past performances, top songs as well as mini-interviews with the artistes. They shared their sentiments about the show and what it means to them. Ice Prince said that he is lucky to be among the African artistes that the world listens to.

He is an inspiration to young upcoming rappers across the continent; they bench mark with is work. Some of his notable works include “I Swear” featuring American – Moroccan rapper French Montana and his collabo “Salute” with D’banj.

Coke Studio Finale

The hallmark of Episode 9 was a performance by Ne-Yo featuring Wangechi, Alikiba, Dama Do Bling, Ice Prince Zamani and Maurice Kirya. It was the most anticipated performance of the show. The song “Reason” was produced by Ne-Yo and it was simply super hooot!

Wangechi threw in her witty, killer swahili lyrics into her fresh verse, complimenting Maurice Kirya’s soulful voice. Dama’s unique Portuguese sound also stood out. Alikiba’s mid-song appearance brought more energy into the mix. Ne-Yo’s authoritative stage presence and Ice Prince’s terrific introduction made the performance memorable.

Coke Studio Finale

There was the Coke Studio cypher featuring talented rappers Nazizi, Kevo K Force, MI and Khaligraph Jones. The season finale was undoubtedly the best show on Kenyan TV this year.
