Kenyan songstress Judith Nyambura popularly known as Avril is a strong woman. Last year, was one of the most challenging seasons for the Nikimuona hitsinger's life. From losing her dad to breaking up with her fiance Mr. Muga, Avril indeed suffered a major blow.

But the strong woman she is, this did not deter her from doing her best. The Oriflame brand ambassador who was engaged in 2014, was 'ditched' on Valentines Day in 2015 by her lover (by then) who was spotted hanging out with 2013 Big Brother Africa winner Dilish Mathews in Namibia. He shared some photos with the stunning lass on his social media on Valentine’s Day and the day before and it was clear that the two indeed had fun.

This happened while Avril performed at Masinde Muliro University in Kakamega.

Well, last year, Avril lost her father around and a few weeks later, she was dumped by her fiance who she thought was going to be her longtime life partner. In an interview on the Let's Talk show, Avril revealed something that has hurt her for so long.

"In 2016 a lot of the things in my life really changed because I lost my dad and around the same, same time the person I was supposed to get married to decides to bolt and I was like ‘What?!’ Just when you’re are trying to stand up then you are given another jab and you have to just sit-down and go like, okay....cool. Good. Yeah," she said.

Avril who has signed many lucrative deals with top local corporates and is busy concentrating on her music career, also revealed that her friends were nowhere when she needed them most.

"During my father’s funeral there were a lot of people I was expecting to be there for me, to support me and they weren’t so I was like 'Kwani where are you guys? Where are you?' and that is what inspired my song 'Uko?'"

Adding;

"Because so many times we believe that the people who are in the front seat, who are supposed to be clapping for you and holding on to us when you cry are people you expect to be there and then they are not. Uko was that question, where are you?"

Avril, Betty Kyallo, Anne Ngugi, Winnie Mukami (Isaac Mwaura's wife) are some of the celebrities who have been failed by people they called friends during difficult times.
