The end times are here! Rogue "men of God" are conning innocent Kenyans in the name of healing and performing miracles. Just as the Bible states in the book of Revelation about fake prophets. From controversial pastor Victor Kanyari to scandalous Apostle James Ng'ang'a, who con their gullible followers off their hard earned money, this fad may not stop anytime soon. Such cases are so rampant nowadays although not all are reported.

Well, Bishop Samuel Muchai alias Pastor Brown and  prophetess Esther Gitau from United Hope World Reach Church in Nyahururu, have been arrested for allegedly stealing Sh5.6 million from two worshipers, after promising to drive away demons.

The two were arrested after the "victims" (Caroline Wambugu and Gladys Nyamu) reported the matter at Makadara police station. But why do people still believe in fellow human beings even after the many stories exposing the cons?

Police said they obtained Sh4 million via M-Pesa, while the rest of the money was handed in cash. They said the offenses were committed on diverse dates between January and March and the fake pastors, Muchai and Gitau, are expected to appear at the Milimani law courts on Thursday to answer to charges of obtaining money by false pretenses.

The church has branches in Nairobi.
