Striking health workers in Kirinyaga have threatened to disrupt Waiguru's wedding unless she deals with the crisis.

The health workers want an audience with her so that she can address and resolves the crisis that led to a complete shutdown of health services.

Kirinyaga county governor Anne Waiguru has been at loggerheads with the health workers. At one point she threatened to sack the over 1000 striking workers if they failed to report to work.

“We cannot accept Kirinyaga people to continue suffering because of people who want to push their political agendas,” said Waiguru.

Waiguru claimed that the health workers were behind the unhygienic conditions at the hospital and warned that the county will embark on replacing the striking health workers and employ other labourers who want to serve Kirinyaga residents.

Now, the health workers have said they will storm the wedding ceremony set for July 13 between Waiguru's and her fiancee lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo.

The ceremony will take place at Kiamugumo Primary school, Kirinyaga County, a stone throw away from where Waiguru was born.

The governor for the first time spoke about her wedding recently saying,

I have instructed the contractor for the Kianyaga-Kiamugumo- Kithure road to complete construction in under one and a half months since I will be having visitors.

The 53-year-old mother went on to say in Kikuyu,

'Is being loved or loving a mistake?'

The county boss further warned that her marriage to Waiganjo - who is from the neighbouring Muranga county - should not be politicized.
