Tanzanian rapper Chidi Benz has been arrested in Dodoma in possession of illegal drugs.

This is not the first time. Well according to the commandant in charge of Dodoma police station, Giles Muroto, Rashid Makwio (Chidi Benz) has been arrested before.

The last time he faced drug charges was when he was caught with a huge quantity of illegal drugs. This time, he has been caught with a stash of weed (bhang).

The Tanzanian rapper has been embarrassed after he was arrested. The commandant advised him that he does not need any form of drugs as an artiste.

All Chidi needs is to focus on his career as an artiste. In an interview, the commandant explained the new charges saying he is has been caught for the second time.

As Chidi was shying away from the cameras, the commandant called him back for advice. What upset Giles Muroto further was the fact that Chidi Benz had pocketed; something the commandant regarded as very disrespectful.

In 2017, he was placed in a rehab to help him recover from drug addiction but was later, in the company of his four friends, arrested and put under police custody with experts running tests on the drugs they police had confiscated from the rapper to determine their type.

These are not the only instances he has been arrested, 4 years ago, Chidi Benz was arrested after a scuffle with his former girlfriend Aisha. Aisha took the matter to court and won. Sources in Tanzania say that the singer allegedly beat up the former lover after a wordy exchange.

Aisha received bruises to her face and was rushed and admitted to hospital where she received some stitches.

He joins the list of Tanzania celebrities who have been investigated for their use of drugs, Diamond, TID, Wema Sepetu and Vanessa Mdee.
