Police are holding three suspects in connection with yesterday’s robbery of Sh4 million from a mobile bank in Embakasi area, Nairobi.

The three include the two police officers who were manning the lorry acting as a Prime Bank mobile bank.

The officers were robbed of their Scorpion rifles but the weapons were later recovered near Kiambu Level five hospital.

This was after a man who was riding on a motorbike dropped them near the gate and rode off. They both had 37 rounds of ammunition.

The six gunmen entered the Ramtons premises near City Cabanas bypass and first confronted the two police officers who were escorting the money in a Prime Bank van robbing them of their guns at about 2.45 pm.

They then jumped into the mobile van bank and grabbed an unknown amount of money in two boxes and escaped on two motorcycles.

The others escaped on foot. All along, other tenants at the premises recorded the developments and as they escaped on foot and on the motorcycles.

The witnesses were heard talking as the gang took charge of the developments with one of them acting as a guard ushering in and out cars. Police say they are looking for the gang.

Check out the video captured by people who witnessed the robbery from the office building above the mobile bank.
