The Afrima Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) have just been concluded in Dallas, Texas in the United States. The awards, which are the African equivalent of the Grammys were hosted by comedians Kansiime and Basketmouth.

The biggest East African winners in this year's awards were Diamond Platnumz and Vanessa Mdee. Vanessa bagged the Best Female artist for East Africa Award while Diamond took home three awards; Best Dance Video, East African Artist of the Year and African Artist of the Year.

This is a big feat for Diamond since he was battling against the likes of South African rapper AKA, Yemi Alade and many more. For Vanessa, she deserves it since she has been tirelessly working on hits. She has just released the music video for her song "Never Ever."
