The 17-year-old minor charged with killing his 16-year-old neighbor in Naivasha will be held at Naivasha police station for the next two weeks.

This will be while he waits for the court to decide his bail terms.

This came as the form two student from Nanyuki High School denied charges of murdering Valerian Njeri on the 29th of November 2019 in Mirera estate in Naivasha.

The teenager who has been in custody since the incident occurred arrived in court dressed in a black hood and dark trousers and was charged before High Court Judge Richard Mwongo.

The victim’s mother on seeing him broke into tears as a police officer moved in to un-handcuff the teenager before the charges were read to him.

According to his advocate F.I Mburu an age and mental assessments had been done and they were waiting for a bail report from the probation officer.

Mburu while calling on lenient bail terms, Mburu told the judge that the parents were friends and neighbors who had coexisted for long.

“The suspect will be joining form four next year and we are praying to the court to determine the bond terms before schools reopen,” he said.

Justice Mowngo directed that the minor be remanded at the Naivasha police station for the period until the 31st of December when he will make his ruling.
