Stivo Simple Boy whose real name is Stephen Otieno is for sure one of the talented artistes of this generation.

His music not only entertains but educates, warns the youths from drug abuse and to abstain.

Well, below are things you didn't know about Stivo Simple Boy.

  1. He is from a humble background

The artiste was born and raised in a humble family in Oyugis, Homabay county before moving to Nairobi.  He was born in a family of eight.

2. He didn't go to high school

The Mihadarati hit singer never attended high school. In a recent interview with K24, he said,

 GROWING UP WAS A BIT CHALLENGING. SCHOOL FEES WAS A PROBLEM AND AFTER CLASS EIGHT I COULDN’T GO ON WITH MY EDUCATION.

3. Started singing way back

He has been in the music scene 2007 but started recording in 2015. His songs are unique. He doesn't copy the new Gengetone music which is dominated by pornographic lyrics. Stivo used to sing in church before he became famous.

4. He lives in Siranga slums, the heart of Kibra constituency.

5. He's a top artiste from the new breeds of musicians

He is giving the industry players a run for their money. Stivo's songs include; Ukimwi, Inauma, Ndoa, Mihadarati, Uhalifu and Jegede.

6. He has not let fame distract him, he's very grounded.

Unlike many artiste or celebs who let fame get into their heads and even the way they do things, Stivo Simple Boy has maintained his status. He still interacts with everyone and lives in the slum despite his fame.

7. He deals with trolls in a very mature way

He is one of the most trolled celebrities around. His photos have been used to create memes and some even mock him.

He has released a new track Inauma featuring Byzzo The Baddest, a response to trolls just to show them that he's strong. Stivo's common phrase Inauma but itabidi uzoee (it hurts, but you just have to get used to it) has been his signature response to trolls.
