26-year-old Judy Nzeki was last week crowned the 'Face of Kenya' at the Miss Face of Kenya pageantry which was held in the United States.

The pageantry, which is held annually, takes place in other countries such as Germany, France and the United Kingdom with the aim of reconnecting Kenyans in the diaspora with their homeland, Kenya.

According to Nairobi News, the Psychology graduate from Machakos was orphaned as a child and luckily landed a scholarship in the United States through Tumaini International, an organisation that helps the less fortunate.

“I’m overwhelmed with joy, this is not my win this is our win, it is a win to show that regardless of your humble beginnings you can make it,” said Judy after being crowned the winner.
