A month ago, Royal Media Services group sent home more than 100 employees due to the company's strategic realignment. TerryAnne Chebet, Kirigo Ngarua and Patrick Igunza were among the bigwigs who were fired. Kirigo who used to host the breakfast show alongside the veteran Willis Raburu has been replaced or rather was replaced a few weeks before she was shown the door.

Joey Muthengi, the current co-host of the celebrated show was working at Hot 96 but was brought in after the station rebranded. After a couple of shows, she was retained. According to sources, Joey was far much better than Kirigo Ngarua. The ex-Citizen employee was then moved to reading news at 1pm, but the new kid on block Fred Indimuli surpassed her. Kirigo was later sent home. Joey Muthengi had already filled in Kirigo's shoes at the time. Now, Raburu and Joey are a perfect TV match.
