A first-year student at Moi University Kitale Campus, Ivan Otieno was recently rescued by the police after he went missing for two weeks. Otieno was locked up in a coffin with his kidnappers demanding a ransom of KES 8 million.

The abductors asked Otieno’s mother to either part with the Ksh 8 million or else they would kill her son to teach her a lesson for failing to give them a tender at the County Government of Trans Nzoia.

Ivan 21 years old was a business management diploma student.
