Kenya is one of the best countries full of talented people. From the music to the acting industry, we are very proud of those who put us on the world map. Artists, actors, sportsmen have greatly changed the perception of our nation and we hope that soon we will acquire Nollywood or Hollywood status. But despite achieving  all these milestones, our heroes and heroines feel that they are not appreciated.

Most of them languish in poverty after calling it a day in their respective fields and Kenyan actors are a good example. Just recently, the case of the late Mzee Ojwang' struggling to make ends meet, left the nation sad and questioning why they are left to suffer, but it seems the government is yet to do anything for them. This is even after President Uhuru promised to ensure that they are well taken care of.

Well, celebrated Papa Shirandula's actress Hanita Njoki Mwaniki, popularly known as Wafirethi, is a bitter Kenyan and wants to meet the President so as to share with him her sentiments.

The 31-year-old lass, who acts as a wife to Njoroge, revealed the bitter truth about the acting industry saying that they earn peanuts, struggle to make ends meet yet their fans think they pocket millions. When asked what she would like the President to do about the acting industry, here is what Wafirethi had to say;

"Please Mr President, look into our welfare as artists because we are also part of your citizenry. We furthermore, entertain Kenyans; and we have vision.

We can work magic when given the necessary support by your government. We can propel the Kenyan acting industry to the top in the continent and even in the world.

I would love to meet you and tell you a lot that is on my mind. On behalf of Kenyan actors, kindly invite us to State House one day. We love you."

Wafirethi told Citizen Digital this during a recent interview.
