Residents of a Naivasha village are in shock after a 50-year-old man committed suicide after learning that his candidate in the just ended Jubilee nominations had lost.

The man from Karati village was found hanging from the ceiling of his bedroom before police were called in and collected the body.

The deceased was the chief agent of one of the leading women representatives and had been confident that his candidate would perform well.

A neighbor Joshua Wambugu said that they were attracted to the home by screams after one of the family members found the man had hanged himself using a rope.

“Some people claim that he committed suicide after learning that his candidate had lost while others claim that he had been depressed for some months,” he said.
