Ugandan President Museveni Meets Pope Francis (Photo)

Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni is currently in Italy on a four-day working visit, where he has met and held talks with the reigning pope of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis.

During the tour, the president also visited the Uganda Martyrs’ Catholic Church in Rome, which is dedicated to the Uganda Catholic Martyrs.  According to Uganda's Redpepper, the Pontiff also  expressed willingness to visit Uganda soon.

After the talks, Pope Francis presented the St Martin Medal named after an important missionary in the Catholic church to President Museveni. In return, the president gave Pope Francis a copy of his book, `Sowing the Mustard Seed’ and a portrait of the Crested Crane Uganda’s symbol.
