The young father, who lost his wife to leukaemia last year, is a single dad of three; two boys and a girl. The media personality’s eight-year-old second-born child named Kunta Kinte, is battling sickle cell anaemia and needs a bone marrow transplant urgently.

The little boy is supposed to travel to Germany for treatment and his father has been fundraising through a medical appeal, hoping that soon his son will be treated.

Edgar and his family have been through a lot after losing wife and in a recent interview with a local media station, he revealed:

THE DOCTOR ALREADY TOLD ME THAT KINTE MAY NOT LIVE BEYOND HIS 12TH BIRTHDAY. THE SAME THING THAT THE DOCTOR TOLD ME ABOUT MY WIFE. WE HAVE BEEN STRUGGLING AND WE ARE STRUGGLING TO KEEP HIM ALIVE. THE DISEASE IS A TYPE OF CANCER THAT AFFECTS THE BLOOD AND BONE MARROW. THEIR EIGHT-YEAR-OLD SON’S LIFE IS ALSO UNDER THREAT FROM A BLOOD DISORDER.

He added that:

SINCE MY WIFE’S BURIAL, KINTE HAS NOT RECEIVED THE REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION BECAUSE I DO NOT HAVE a mediacal INSURANCE. MY CHILDREN ARE NOT AT HOME BECAUSE MY HOUSE WAS LOCKED BY THE LANDLORD.

MY SON IS TAKING THE STRONGEST ANTIBIOTICS AND MUST TAKE THESE MEDICINES FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE.
