TRAGIC! Two Dead As Passenger Bus And Trailer Collide Along Nakuru-Eldoret Highway (PHOTO)

Two people have been confirmed dead after a passenger bus heading to Mumias from Nairobi collided with a trailer along the busy Nakuru-Eldoret Highway on Tuesday morning, January 31st, 2017.

The were identified as the driver and conductor of the bus belonging to Western Express Coach, registration number KCG 271N.

According to Molo police boss Daniel Kamanza, the accident happened at Mau Summit.

A police report by the Nakuru county Molo Division Mau Summit sub./base read:

"It occurred today the 31/01/2017 at Jogoo market along Nakuru Eldoret High way at about 02:20hrs about 2km east of the station involving Western Express Coach bus Reg no KCG 271N make Isuzu and a trailer reg no KCC 059F ZD2458 make m /benz Actros. The bus was heading to Mumias with an unknown number of passengers on board. And on reaching at the location accident, the driver of the bus namely John Bichunju improperly tried to overtake another vehicle but hit the oncoming trailer on right rear side. The trailer was heading to Nakuru from Eldoret. Both the bus driver and his co-driver namely Dominic Otieno were fatally injured on the spot. Scene visited by police and necessary action taken. Bodies of the deceased removed to Molo sub county hospital mortuary pending postmortem. Both m/vehicles at the station awaiting inspection."
