Diamond Platnumz has denied buying YouTube views. This is a nasty trend that some artistes use to fake their virality.

Diamond said that he focuses on making quality music and videos instead that endear themselves to his fans, effortlessly.

Diamond has over one billion views on Youtube.

Speaking at Wasafi FM's The Switch, he maintained that he invests heavily in his music to maintain his huge following.

When we were blacked out on several media outlets we invested in social media platforms where we now have almost 5 million subscribers, this means that once I post a video there will be some 300k fans ready to watch," he said.

He added;

"I would like to do something that measures up to the best standards whether I am growing or not," he explained.

He added that not every artist has the gift of releasing a song and makes it trend on YouTube.

“For example Rostam, how come their songs go to number one? The other day Stamina released a single with Professor Jay, and it got to the top as well, so we have to believe in good songs,” he said.

Diamond became the first sub-Saharan African singer to hit the one billion mark on a YouTube channel last year.
