The Kenyan-born New York-based model has been on the fast-rise after she became the first black model to star in a Prada campaign after Naomi Campbell did it more than 20 years ago.

In a recent interview with The Observer Magazine, Malaika says she does not mind being compared to Naomi. She deems it to be an honor, something incredible and flattering; being compared to one of the greatest models the planet has had in recent times.

In the Vogue Japan issue for May, Malaika looks extremely different from what you'd expect for a girl from Mombasa. She's setting pace for our local talent as she's featuring alongside big names like Kendall Jenner (Kim Kardashian's younger sister) and Cara Delevinge (Rihanna's BFF.)
