It's been exactly 3 and a half months since the son of our land, US President Barrack Obama announced that he would be coming back home, the first time since he became president. The last time he was in the country he was a Senator back in 2006, but is his much-anticipated visit a goodbye to Kenyans or is it symbolic?

Well, with a few days remaining for the world's most powerful president to jet in, many preparations are underway, from cleaning up the city by chasing away streets families to planting trees and flowers on major roads he is expected to use. But if I may ask, what about the other side of the city like the slums and his home in Shauri Moyo where he is said to have grown up? Why isn't the government focusing on these places? Can you imagine what would happen if he demanded to be taken around the biggest slum in Kenya; Kibera where some of his great supporters hail from? Only Kidero knows well.

As we wait to welcome our son back home, many myths surrounding his visit have evolved yet no one has come out to confirm this.  Below are some of the trending things about Obama's stay in Kenya; are they true or false?

1. Where he will spend his nights

Prior to what was earlier communicated that he would reside at any of the top 5 star hotels; Villa Rossa Kempinski, Intercontinental or Sankara, rumour has it that he has chosen the prestigious Windsor Hotel over the three. True or False?

2. His  Translator has already arrived in the country

Kenyans are very funny. Earlier on today, we woke to the news that Obama's translator jetted in last night and he is ready for his job. Does Obama really need a translator?

3. No hawkers till he leaves the country

Rumour has it that hawkers will not be allowed in and out of Kasarani Stadium on Sunday when he will be addressing Kenyans. But if I may ask, what will happen to small-scale traders who have been waiting for this day to sell their merchandise? How true is this?

4. Flags from the airport to Statehouse

This one got me laughing. Kenyans have been spreading rumours that flags from both countries (Kenya and the US) will be aligned from the JKIA to the house on the hill. Do you agree with this?

5. No walking around aimlessly

No one will be allowed to walk around until he leaves the country. But if I may ask, how are people going to get to work, does it mean that they will stay indoors the whole 36 hrs?
