A suspected burglar was found dead on Sunday, December 18 in Robertsham in Southern Johannesburg, South Africa after being impaled on a fence.

Police officers who arrived on the scene said they found the man dead and hanging from a residential palisade fence after attempting to flee the scene.

The incident was confirmed Police Spokesperson Captain Mavela Masondo who said the 25 year-old man was found at 4:30 am with some items which he stole from nearby houses.

"A man was found hanging from palisade fencing, next to him were a TV sets and two jackets which we suspect were stolen during a robbery two houses away from the scene reported earlier in the morning," he said.

He went on to say that an investigation to established whether the deceased was alone at the time of the incident.
