A tragic road accident along the Nyeri-Nairobi highway has claimed five lives so far, police can confirm.

According to media reports, the fatal crash which occurred at Mlima Swara black spot last night, snuffed out the lives of four women and one man.

It is said that a lorry which was ferrying timber lost control and rammed into two matatus which belong to Ketno Sacco and Emuki Sacco.

Makuyu OCPD Paul Wanjama confirmed the incident saying the matatus were heading to Embu from Nairobi before the lorry hit them.
