Barely 4 months after two Kenyan athletes were suspended due to doping, earlier on today the nation suffered yet another big blow. Two Kenyans, Joyce Zakary, 29, and Koki Manunga, 21, have been suspended after testing positive for banned substances at the World Championships in Beijing.
According to the Track and field's world governing body, the duo had been tested at the athletes' hotel before their competition started as part of "targeted tests" and the results turned out to be positive. This emerges as another 13 Kenyan athletes are currently serving suspensions for doping.
Kenya is currently leading the Beijing medal table with four gold, three silver and two bronze medals.
