Death has robbed Kenya one of it's most promising talents in the music industry. 2011 Chaguo La Teeniez Awards "Best New Artiste" nominee Simon Njoroge, popularly known as Shrekeezy mysteriously disappeared while on a boat ride to Mbudya Island in Tanzania on Sunday 30th August 2015, and was only found at sea 3 days later dead.

After his last Instagram post which he captioned "The boat ride from to is the scariest thing I've experienced in a long time. But we here... ", his family and friends tried reaching Shrekeezy to no avail.

According to friends and witnesses, a white woman was seen trying to save Shrekeezy from drowning, but unfortunately she had to detach from him after she got tired. The search for his body began on the same day, but his lifeless body was discovered 3 days after he drowned.
