I like a happy ending. I like(d) Top Gear. I like Jeremy Clarkson. He is like that offensive racist uncle who always says something that is bound to irk you but he says it so well, you can't help but laugh. He is like that pet cat that you love to bits but is always playing in the backyard and coming back into the house to ruin everything.

And it's nice to see him bounce back without breaking a sweat! Also, his friends make me believe in true friendship. What's not to like about this story? Yes, he's a bit of a cactus given the circumstances under which he left Top Gear and BBC but he's doing just fine and his friends are right by his side to help.

Fans of the hit BBC2 motoring show celebrated when the 55-year-old presenter was reunited with his former co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May during their Clarkson, Hammond and May Live tour at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Friday.

The show, kicks off a global super car tour, opened with the man himself arriving in a hovercraft to the tune of boxing anthem Eye Of The Tiger.

And just why was I babbling about the friendship angle? Well, May and Hammond have ruled themselves out of a Top Gear return because of their loyalty to their friend Clarkson. How many of your friends would do that given that they were offered more money to do the show?
