Football coach Tim Bryett has mourned the death of Kevin Oliech who was a player under his supervision while playing for Nairobi City Stars.

In a long tribute, Tim said Kevin was like a son to him adding that he had been warned that Kevin was trouble but he chose to believe in him.

'As I finish tucking in my son to bed and kiss him good night.

I sit down barely seeing the letters on my keyboard due to the tears in my eyes and whiskey beside me.

I come to the realization that I have lost one of my football sons, Kevo.

When I took charge of Nairobi City Stars FC, I was warned that I would have trouble with two players.

Kevin Oliech. Let me tell you that he was one of the hardest working, professional, kindest, loyal and talented players I have ever had.

The world should know how good this boy was, and taken from us too soon!'

Kevin succumbed to cancer after a four year battle. He passed away in Germany where he was receiving treatment.

Sharing Kevin's last moment former soldier David Etale said that he passed away while he listened to a song by Beres Hammond.

'WE WENT FOR A DRIVE AROUND BERLIN LISTENING TO OUR FAVOURITE REGGAE TUNE, COME DOWN FATHER BY BERES HAMMOND.

AND ALL YOU DID WAS SMILE, EVEN WHEN YOU TOOK YOUR LAST BREATH KEN PLACED THE PHONE BESIDE YOUR EAR PLAYED THE SONG AS YOU LAID PEACEFULLY AND YOUR FACE GLOWED WITH A SMILE THAT’S WHAT I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER," Etale partly wrote.

May Kevin rest in eternal peace. Our condolences to his family and friends.
