Kenyan rugby star Collins Injera will not feature in the fifth round of the HSBC Sevens World Series. The speedy winger returned home to be by his wife’s side as they expect their second child any moment from now.

Injera’s first daughter celebrated her birthday today and the proud father shared a photo and captioned: “Happy Birthday baby... a true blessing you are... We truly, madly, deeply love you baby girl. #proudparents #tbt #birthdaygirl #birthdaymonth #blessed #happypeople #photogenic #smiles.”

According to the head coach Felix Ochieng, Dennis Muhanji replaces Collins Injera in the Kenya squad to the fifth round of the HSBC Sevens World Series, the USA Sevens, taking place in Las Vegas this weekend.

He further added that  “It is of course a life event that we as a team and management do not take for granted. We appreciate the role loved ones play in the well being of our players and management, they are the unsung heroes who celebrate quietly and soldier emotions in good and bad times. We respect the institution of marriage in the same breath as we do employers and academic institutions.”

“Yes, Collins plays a pivotal role on and off the pitch and his commitment to the cause is unquestionable. We wish him well and look forward to having him back in training more enthused and as a proud father,” concluded Felix.

This will be Injera's second child.
