Residents of Kahawa West woke up to shock on Thursday when some of the houses in the locality were torn down by bulldozers.

This is a commendable move by the county government as there has been a rise in the number of buildings collapsing in the country. In April, a building collapsed just behind Thika Road Mall caused a number of deaths and damage worth hundreds of thousands of shillings.
