Val Dantez (his alias) was one of the police officers sent out on a cattle rustling rescue mission in Baragoi in 2012.

The mission was, however, set to turn end up as the massacring of police officers, after they were ambushed by a gang of cattle rustlers in the infamous Suguta Valley of Baragoi, Samburu County.

At least 40 police officers and reservists were murdered during the military-style ambush. The incident is today referred as the "Baragoi Massacre".

Dantez, is a cop attached to Bondeni Police Station in Nakuru. He was among the lucky few officers to survive the bloodbath at Suguta Valley.

The incident came as a life-changing opportunity for the young and musically-talented officer, who decided to give his life to Christ and started singing gospel music.

Born and bred in Nairobi's Eastlando area, Dantez became a matatu tout in Nairobi, soon after clearing his high school education.

He, however, joined the police service albeit after a couple of attempts. He has since released several songs among them Mzalendo (patriot).

Dantez also started an organization called Wazalendo Peace Initiative, with an aim of preaching peace in Kenya, especially to the youth. He is currently involved with an initiative called 'Peace Walk'.

The doting dad attracts loads and loads of attention from the lady folks, probably because of his toned body (read six pack).
