Singer and business woman, Akothee who is a proud single mum has again expressed how being the only provider in a family is not an easy job.

Akothee is a mother to 5 children two of them  are of mixed race while the rest are black.

Akothee had this to say about taking up her single mother obligations;

''the relationship could be unstable, yes, you went separate ways,yes, but as a mother you have no choice but to provide security for your children, hug your children, kiss them, protect them, listen to their stories , listen to their fears, reassure the kids that you will be there no matter what.''

However Akothee recalled times when her mother wanted to walk out of her marriage;

This is what Akothee said ;

''I remember old days when my mum would threaten to pack & go I would evesdrop till the argument is over. I was tempted to open my mums door & tell my parents how I feel, I wanted to go in & tell my mum to stay & not leave us alone, but I was very scared, am SURPRISED with all the fears my mum is still with her first love.''

Despite her marriage life not working out, Madam Boss also had her own opinion regarding the current huge number of divorces;

''our parents could condone all kinds of nonsense unlike us, this generation we are too sensitive, I cant explain why, the rate of separation is higher compared to the rate of engagements, divorce kila kona, but how about our children? do they deserve to be unhappy just because we went separate ways? No way."
