Businessman Jimi Wanjigi has called the fake obituary a "death promise."

"I don't think it is just an advert. We must put it in context. First and foremost, I am alive. I'm right here contrary to the wishes [in that OBITUARY] I'm right here," Jimi told journalist.

The business magnate added, "Kenya right now is going through what I would like to say is a twilight zone. Anything can happen to us, anytime. But dawn is not far. The dawn is coming and it is not far away. All these things you are seeing being circulated everywhere, they are being perpetuated by a regime that is supposed to adhere to the law. Its is coming to an end. It is coming very soon. Very, very soon."

Jimi Wanjigi also sent a message to his detractors.

"I am not worried about myself. God is the one who gives life and takes life. It is up to God. But there are many other Kenyans that have died since August 8. There are many who have been killed by the same arms of police and nothing has ever happened. Not even a public inquiry."
