Controversial socialite Huddah Monroe has been bashed online for referring to plus size women as elephants.
The petite figured associates, who’s known for posting half-naked pics online, use photos of American rapper Lizzo, calling out plus size women, saying they promote obesity.
NOBODY SHAMING. I KNOW I POST A LOT OF SEMI-NUDE PHOTOS MYSELF BUT I DON’T THINK WE SHOULD PROMOTE OBESITY AND SAY THAT SHE’S CONFIDENT. CALL A SPADE A SPADE AND NOT A BIG SPOON,’ read one of her posts.
Huddah’s remarks left her trending for days with many threatening to boycott her beauty products.
Plus-size model and media personality Neomi Nganga shared a photo of Lizzo and called out Huddah for being heartless, in a lengthy post she wrote,
DID I HEAR SOMEONE CALL HER (Lizzo) ELEPHANT??? ~ ~
##God knows why we human beings do not have it all. I reckon it’s so we can compliment, complete and appreciate each other. None of us is close to perfect. However it is very sad when God gives you a sane mind and opportunities to use your brain wisely for the benefit of yourself and others and you choose to be outrightly silly and thoughtless.
Don’t you have a more acceptable and civil way of expressing or sharing your opinions without insulting?
You claim to empower youth, are you now going to filter by size?
Is this your best shot at serving a solution to a problem you seem to have ‘elephantised’? #EVERYWOMANISAWOMANPERIOD!! SKINNY OR PHAT !
All women in their own capacity are Magical ..they are strong ..they have beautiful stories! ~ ~
They have broken boundaries!! They have achieved beyond their size!! ~ ~
SHOULD these FAT WOMEN STOP BUYING YOUR PRODUCTS??? JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE FAT?? ~ ~
Health is BEYOND SIZE !! You got the attention you clearly are so desperate to get.
I hope you are sleeping better at night.
Piece of advice !! While promoting your brand try get yourself some basic knowledge…invest in humanity and self-awareness. Try be more selfless and remember a wise woman is careful with her words.
Mhhm! I guess we all know what that makes you!
Local female personalities the likes of Amina Abdi, Saumu Mbuvi, Kambua shared the same sentiments. Check out the reactions;
Kate Actress It so sad. what does it cost you to be kind? When God gives you such a platform you find kinder ways to address issues, you can talk about obesity without being offensive, many women are struggling with body image issues whether overweight or underweight, the least we can do is make them feel worse about themselves. One another thing God has a way of HUMBLING every human being, @huddahthebosschick I hope you realise how deep that post hurt most women that have fully supported you and your brand. And it’s okay it’s not a must they support you, but it doesn’t hurt to be kind! People are out here going through shit!
aminaabdirabar It’s unacceptable Neomi. I completely agree. More love, less hate
kambuamuziki @neominaganga Louder babe! 🗣️
Saumu Mbuvi Don’t mind them..they survive on editing and photoshop to fake perfection and when they see a woman embracing her beauty every comfortable in her skin or size …they are their own enemy 🙄😡
jahmbykoikai People have no empathy Neomi. It’s sad to shame people and being totally blind to their experiences. There’s so much involved in and about our bodies. Unanijua miaka mob lol hata nikikula Nairobi mzima siwezi nona. There are other women who are battling diseases, hormonal imbalance, depression, genetics and a myriad of challenges that lead to our different body types. A good example is birth control. Some women gain weight and some lose weight. Some have their skin breaking out and some don’t. I think in the midst of all these things is to learn empathy. Our experiences are different and vary from each other. A little empathy.
teacherwanjiku I honestly do feel in this day and age, people should be let to decide what to do with their bodies, let us learn how to use kind words when expressing an opinion, knowledge is power, ignorance is a disease! Let us use our platform to inspire and encourage, My fitness journey is not yours, if you are comfortable in your own skin, who am I to say otherwise, na muwachane na kihara yangu😏😏😂😂
steffiestephie it’s time those “big women” stopped buying her products.that was so low of her !!!
terrymuikamba No one should have opinions on people’s bodies unless you are their doctor! Period.
‘I’m just fat not pregnant!’ 27-year-old Classic 105 presenter Terry Muikamba says
Trying to justify her sentiments, Huddah responded to Neomi saying,
LMFAO! Not someone. HUDDAH. I asked a simple question why is it ok to shame skinny women and glorify phat, FAT and call it curvy. Plump or thick when it’s FAT! Elephant size, gazelle size, lioness size. All are beautiful. But let’s not glorify others and downplay others coz we think it’s ok. Let’s promote a healthy lifestyle.
