Media personality Rashid Abdallah has said that most marriages thrive because of the exes, and that they should be congratulated.

This he said during a discussion on Citizen TV based on whether it’s OK to speak to your ex.

‘Most marriages thrive because of exes. They should actually be congratulated because of that.

Kuwasiliana na ex sio shida, tatizo ni what they are talking about.

Don’t forget that exes are human too so I don’t think cutting them off completely is a very good idea.

Sometimes we might need their help.

I know of someone who holds a job as a driver and they got it through their ex. She connected him to someone who could get him the job.

So saying that tusiongee na ex kabisa is not advisable.’

Bi Mswafari was however of the opinion that one should completely keep off their ex once they part.

This is because such relations can at times make someone ‘backslide’. I think that speaking to an ex depends on what broke off the relationship.

If the breakup was mutual then you can talk to your ex, but if the breakup was messy then it’s best to keep off such an ex.
