For the first time ever, a light has been shone into the life of 2008 IAAF Golden League 800m champion Pamela Jelimo and why her marriage crumbled.

The millionaire's ex-husband, Peter Kiprotich Murrey, has spoken out and spilled the beans on why his marriage broke up.

Peter claims that after Jelimo bagged the title and the millions of dollars, their marriage started to deteriorate. He was saddened by how his high school sweetheart just changed overnight.

In an interview with Nairobian, Peter said,

“We would sit and make plans to invest, only to discover later that my wife had already secretly acquired property with the help of lawyers and put everything in her name. I had nothing, not even the house we lived in together. I did not even partly own the house we lived in. It was almost like she was preparing for our separation,” he said.

Peter claims that the level of mistrust soared to a point where the star athlete acquired property secretly.

Also, Jelimo did not share her winnings with the hubby who claims he had to use her high maintenance cars to run personal errands because he did not own one himself and “felt like a squatter” in his own house.

“I did not fear being broke, that is what I had been all my life before the million dollars. I was determined to bounce back,” he told Nairobian, with a smile.

Jelimo's now ex hubby is sad that their village romance dwindled off and the two are in the process of getting a divorce, a process that began in 2012.

“I have never had the opportunity to meet my ex-wife face-to-face since that fateful day in 2012. I can confidently say however, that I have no interest in meeting her ever again,” says Peter.

Peter is currently married with a child. He accuses Jelimo of refusing to sire a child with him.
