Yesterday, former Milele FM presenter Geoffrey Kwatemba was in the hands of his kidnappers.

He was nabbed on Sunday by unknown people in town when he was heading home after attending a gospel concert.

Geoffrey sent a distress call to his wife alerting her of the situation, she in return rushed to Kayole Police station to report the matter.

While still in the hands of his captives, Geoffrey sent out an SOS on his Facebook page.

"Nashukuru Mungu bado niko hai mikononi mwa hawa wapendwa baada ya masaa 24. Siku moja watamwabudu Mungu wa Kwatemba. Si rahisi kuaminiwa na Mungu, nashukuru maana Mungu amepima uwezo wangu na kiwango cha uvumilivu jinsi alivyo mwamini Ayub."

Adding, "Wimbo wa Bertha Mulengeki - Ameniamini umejaa moyoni mwangu ninapofunga kwa lazima. Endeleeni kurusha mishale kwa maombi. Mungu anajibu maombi. Ahsante kwa maombi, nina ujasiri katika kristo

Geoffrey rallied his friends and family to raise the ransom amount the kidnappers demanded, once he paid them off, he was released by his kidnappers who dumped him in Kakamega.

Taking to his Facebook page, Geoffrey wrote,

"Hello friends!

I want to take this opportunity first to thank my creator Jehovah God for his supernatural protection for more than 36hours in the hands of the enemy,

2ndly my wife Milly Wandera and my Sons Allan and Barney for being there for me, and my brother's and sisters, not forgetting my cousin Henry Atetwe and nephew Ben Kwatemba. It was tough but you persevered through it all.

3rdly i want to thank my Boss Dr. Alfred Mutua and colleagues at the office of the Governor Machakos County.

4th my fellow scribes, you made good noise about the issue mpaka kenya ikajua the son is at danger. God bless you all. Evah Mwalili and Eudias Kigai you were the early birds. I celebrate all the journalist and am proud of being one of you.

5th my thanks to all who chipped in a single coin to ensure we pay the amount.

And finally all Kenyans at large for your prayers and standing the gap. God bless us all.
