TV industry big wig Larry Madowo has called it a day at the popular programme, The Trend, which airs every Friday from 8PM on NTV.

Madowo who was branded the face of NTV, revealed that he was a business reporter for five years.

In a video he shared online, Larry Madowo thanked all his supporters who made The Trend worthwhile and the best gig on TV locally.

The jovial presenter who is often trolled online, lashed out at fellow media stations for copying his show and revealed that's the main reason why he had to quit the friday night show.

"If you look at Friday night Television in Kenya right now everyone is trying to do what I have done. They are copying the The Trend. Everybody and every channel. I can't compete with my students anymore.

People are trying to be me and its time for me to move on," said Madowo.

Thousands took to social media to react to Madowo's 'new move' and here are the comments...

Yvonne:  It was my must watch youtube video every week. All the best in your endeavors. Yes you have done a great job with the trend, yes watu wamecopy sana was even wondering why everyone is doing the same thing. Your laughter so contagious!

Wafula: Ati other TV stations are copying what he is doing, sasa akitoa hiyo kama excuse ya yeye kutoka...what about the news that we normally see, nani alicopy mwingine.....

Dylan: Larry thanks for the time you made us glue on NTV just to catch a look at your socks!! Amazing...

Peter: But wait. People are trying to be Larry Madowo! But James Smart was the brainchild if Trend, and not Larry Madowo.

Brenda: I've been a loyal fan since the first show in 2012, and yes it's been a monkey see monkey do scenario on our media of late mostly on Saturday nights & Sunday afternoons it sucks with all those time wasting music shows. Anyway, thank you for the awesome time over the years you've been amazing you made my Friday TV viewing worthwhile. may God continue to expand your horizons beyond our region & keep being a pace setter. Am still a Trend fan so all the best to the new face of the show am hoping its Shiro who takes the mantle next, she's got passion for the show I always feel it.Until next time Larry, Au Revoir.

Ann: We don't fear competition we make ourselves the best ....best of luck where you go young man but next don't fear to compete but be original and create your originality .

Javan: As long as its Larry who is saying this i still thinks its a joke but all in all it have been the best show and wishing you the best. We will miss your Kitenge socks

Thomas: Words lie, but body language never lies. Larry is trying to say that leaving the trend is a good thing for him but notices how his body, especially his head, isn't in agreement.

Lucie: The trend was my best live show since high school but let's be real, the ratings since 10/10 came up have not been so good. I'm not a fan of the latter as it fits teenagers more but TTT has been boring of late with the same faces coming for interviews. I'm glad you've ended the show. The show was great though. I guess we're back to Moses Kuria's kinda stuff.

Wambũgũ: It's good riddance for me. I stopped watching the show when he started showing off happy socks. Thats when I knew I was not part of the target audience. It was meant for teens.

Karimi: I've had many break ups but this is the one that has left me shattered. To be honest the hosts who have stepped in while you have been away don't have that spark but I guess they'll have to customize it and have to start somewhere. I do wish you well as always and thank you for giving me something to look forwards to every Friday.

May your next journey be amazing

Hillary: idea the show was great but lately its more of a kid show. You brought in big baby panelists that laugh even when they see a fly and spoilt the whole show

Ben: I'll also be leaving....Larry anaogopa kuigwa!!! C ndo Maisha yalivyo bana...mbona unagura na kutuacha sie mashabiki na ukiwa...ehe bana usifanye hivyo mwanangu.
