He brought joy, laughter and colour to our black and white TV sets. He is the man who made Kenyan comedy what it is today. He was a mentor and a role model to many, and he will be greatly missed. The Kenyan father of comedy Mzee Ojwang' passed away on Sunday night after he succumbed to pneumonia.

Every Monday at 8 pm, Ojwang graced our screens back in the day when Vitimbi was the only famous TV comedy. I remember we would assemble in the neighbourhood that owned a TV set just to watch Mzee Ojwang do what he liked most. Do you think there is anyone who will fill his gap?

The late Ojwang, who acted for close to 4 decades, will be buried on 28th this month. Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko has been of great support to the 78-year-old's family and recently, he transferred his body from the Kenyatta mortuary to a better morgue.

Being a Thursday, allow me to share photos of the fallen hero back in the day when he made the whole nation laugh. You will always remain in our hearts.
