Every time I come to work I use matatus but hope that one day I am going to own a car so that I can avoid competing with touts at bus stops. I happen to come from one of the worst matatu routes; number 14 where touts popularly known as makanga's lack manners; always abusing customers, filthy and stinky.

Whenever I seat in a matatu next to a window; I keep on staring at the flashy city matatus especially the Rongai Matatus just wishing to be given a ride. Nairobi's economy is growing so fast, evident from the matatu culture. For example let's take the Rongai route (125/126); one of the main reasons why it is grown that fast is because it is far away from town so a lot of money is collected as busfare, as opposed to areas that are near town where less amounts of money are collected. The money collected helps repay the given loan on the vehicle.

Rongai has fancy matatus compared to other routes, maybe because of the many universities along the road. The matatus are well decorated, with pictures of the world's greatest icons. The youth tend to love such matatus because of graffiti, loud music, screens all over and the fact that they are driven well and fast.

Below are photos of the top best Rongai Matatus, which one is the best?
