Three suspected thugs have been gunned down in Westlands, near the Gypsy club area. This caused a traffic snarl up along Waiyaki way, as the bodies of the robbers lay strewn next to a Feilder they were driving in.

The three suspected robbers are said to have engaged police in a shoot-out and were shot dead. A pistol was recovered from them after they attempted to rob a near-by bank.

A CZ pistol with 7 rounds of ammunition were recovered.
