Lifestyle

We know some of them; they’re sassy, influential and truly inspiring. These woman have made use of the power of the Internet to share their enviable lifestyles, from runways to the red carpets.

They teach us how to cook, dress up well and burst out laughing when they share with us the relatable frustrations of a typical Nairobian.

We have some inspiring ladies you need to know about. These are the first two.

This Is Ess

Sharon Mundia, popularly known as This Is Ess is one of the most influential public figures in Kenya. The trendy girl has managed to harness the power of the internet to build a reputable brand. She has worked with top notch companies for advertorials and ad placements on her social media.

With the power of photography, eye for style and ambition, she has built a futuristic fashion empire. Recently, she launched her own cloth line in collaboration with a major fashion house.

Kaluhi’s Kitchen

She’s been profiled by major local and global publications including Daily Nation and CNN. Kaluhi Adagala was fond of posting her well prepared meals on social media and her friends would earnestly ask for the recipe. That’s how her blog kahuliskitchen.com was born. She cites her inspiration as Caroline Mutoko and Taylor Swift, who she describes as brainy and fun grounded respectively. She was this year's Best Blogger in the BAKE Awards.

These women are treading new frontiers and unveiling opportunities for younger millenials who would love to take the same path.  I recently came across the Intel She Will Connect program which teaches women and young girls on how to make the most out of the Internet to enhance their lives; to achieve their dreams and be inspiring people in the society.

If you are such a lady, I suggest that you head over to and register for the digital literacy program, explore the platform, meet stellar women who are sharing their success stories and get to change your life. You’ll learn how to scale your business, discover services that will make your life easier and get to put out your ideas for your peers to give you feedback!

The best thing about the She Will Connect online platform is that it gives you the option of using the Swahili language and it is for FREE. It’s all about connecting the unconnected. Have fun and get ready for success!
