It's a sad day for Kenyans as we mourn the lives of the eight passengers and two crew, who perished after their plane crashed in the Aberdares.

Yesterday at 1720HRS Jomo Kenyatta International airport control tower reported that it has lost contact with a caravan aircraft with a capacity of 12 passengers operated by East African Safari Air Express registration number 5Y CAC.

The aircraft departed from Kitale destined for Nairobi at 1605HRS but did not make it to its final destination.

The wreckage has been retrieved and families of the late have been informed about the death.

The pilot, Barbra Wangeci Kimani was the pilot who perished in the crash. Barbra, a joyous lady has been described by many as a great friend, ambitious and lived life to the fullest. She fought for her dreams and after getting her degree, she went back to flight school to become a pilot.
