Cord leader Raila Odinga's daughter Rosemary Odinga is back on her feet after battling partial blindness. The mother of two regained her full sight in late December 2019 after two years in the dark.

In 2017, Rosemary was diagnosed with a brain tumor that caused a mild stroke forcing her to drop out of the Kibra parliamentary seat race.

In a previous interview with Citizen TV, the brave mother recalled how she had travelled to Naivasha, where she was mentoring young women in politics and it’s there where she experienced her blindness. She had gone with her daughters.

I WAS DOING A WORKSHOP FOR LADIES WHO WANT TO BE POLITICIANS, AND MY HEAD WAS JUST ACHING. THEN I REMEMBER I WAS CALLED FOR BREAKFAST AND I COULDN’T OPEN THE DOOR… EVENTUALLY, AFTER KNOCKING AND OPENING THE DOOR, I JUST COLLAPSED ONTO THE HELP WHO WAS THERE,' she said.

Adding,

MY OLDER DAUGHTER RAN TO THE CLINIC AND THEY SENT AN AMBULANCE WHICH CAME AND PICKED ME UP. THEN THEY SAID WE COULD DRIVE TO NAIROBI BUT I SAID I COULDN’T MAKE IT SO THEY SENT FOR A CHOPPER WHICH BROUGHT ME TO NAIROBI.
