In Nigeria, one of the most blessed people are the Igbo. The Igbo are from the Eastern parts of the vast country Lugard named Nigeria -supposedly when he merged these two terms; The "Niger Area". The Igbo are some of the most industrious people in the world and they hail from Enugu, Abia, Anambra, Eboni and Imo.The Anambrians are the Igbo who have a tough time differentiating "R" from "L". My father is from Enugu.

Why am I giving you this long history and geography lesson? Because I was disgusted to read a certain story that claimed a food kiosk in Anambra had served human flesh to customers. I was outraged because I knew this to be a lie. Igbo are staunch Christians and this nonsense would never be tolerated.

The idiots I worked with had a funfilled day making jokes at my expense only for BBC to admit that it had carried an erroneous story. This is what they had to say about all that cacophony they'd raised:

"The story about the Nigerian restaurant which we published here was a mistake and we apologise. It was incorrect and published without the proper BBC checks. We have removed the story and have launched an urgent investigation into how this happened.

The BBC Swahili service’s reputation for accuracy and balance remains of paramount importance to us and we are taking the appropriate steps to insure that mistakes like this do not happen again.”
