Kenya has lost the the best musical minds. On Mashujaa Day, Achieng Abura at Kenyatta National Hospital.

This comes after Achieng's struggle with life trying to raise money for her son, Prince, to receive treatment for sickle cell anemia. The . In an interview with sections of the press, Achieng Abura lamented about how, people she thought were her friends let her down at her hour of need.

Now that Achieng is dead, messages of comfort and condolences are streaming in faster than a concord.

Larry Madowo's lawyer, Don Kipkorir has lashed out at the music industry fraternity and Kenyans at large for their "hypocrisy".

Don who is known to throw mean punches when it comes to saying it as it is, wrote on his Facebook,

Death of Achieng Abura Exposes Our Hypocrisy

Today, Achieng' Abura left us. In her death, do we see the hypocrisy of Kenyans. Suddenly, everyone on social media is claiming they were friends with her.

Yet in her interview in the Business Daily of July 7 ( my birthday) , she told Jackson Biko (Bikozulu) that she had been struggling for over five years in vain to raise money to take her son to England for treatment of his sickle cell anemia. That in one "successful" fund raiser, less than ten people turned up.

Like we always do, she will now be praised by all, and thousands will turn up in a requiem mass and then the funeral. The body may even be moved from KNH where she has died to Lee Funeral Home. In death, her body will receive more money and friends than she received when alive.

Why do Kenyans turn up in multitude calling themselves friends of one who is dead, when they aren't there when they were alive?

My true friends know me: I stand by my friends when alive. I will never claim to be a friend of someone when dead when I wasn't there for them when they were alive and suffering.

Hypocrisy of Kenyans ought to end, and must end. If you didn't support someone when alive, don't claim them when dead.

RIP Achieng' Abura. Am sorry, I never knew you when alive. Our paths never crossed. But will extend support to your son to raise the medical bill for his treatment.

PS. East Breweries Limited with all the Billions they make couldn't give her the meagre Kshs. 12million after she did all the Tusker Fame Projects? And they claim to be good corporate citizen!"

Another Kenyan, Chris Sunday wrote, "Kenyans,we are real hypocrites...Right now,we all adore Mama Prince. We are good at turning up in multitudes calling ourselves 'friends' of one who is dead, when we weren't there when they were alive. Lydia Achieng Abura died at K.N.H,all alone. Am sure the body may be soon moved to another 'better place' Am sure thousands will turn up at her requiem mass and/or funeral. Am sure her body will now receive more money & friends than when she was alive. Mama Prince struggled for 5 years in vain to raise money for Prince (her only child) to help in his treatment of sickle cell anemia & heart condition,in the U.K.The solution was to airlift the boy to the UK for 12 million (including all related costs of treatment); or the other option was to put the doctor, the nurse, Lydia & Prince on business class for only 4 million-and save his life. Despite Abura's pleas, that never happened. In fact, in one fundraising event, less than 10 'friends' attended. Now we are all over the media with 'we loved you...blah blah blah..' Mum, sleep well. You know how much we tried...Prince will be fine...We will see you again,on the other side... Rest in eternal peace..."
