The family and friends of Farid, a man who was stabbed 22 times by his girlfriend; Ruth Kamande, the newly crowned Miss Lang'ata Women's Prison pageant, are not happy at all and they are still demanding for justice to be done. The family's wounds are still fresh and to make the matter worse, Kenyans are busy praising Ruth for the winning the Miss Lang'ata Women's Prison 2016 title.

She is the talk of the town and men everywhere want to have a piece of her. Kamande's "new status" has changed the perception of Kenyan prisons and women on social media are busy yearning to visit the prison and enjoy the same privileges.

"How many ladies are out there ready now to stab someone and go to prison for fashion and be celebs....Prisons should be like the old days of Moi, where people fear going there...she couldn't have done such a crime knowing what can be awaiting her ahead...", read one Facebook comment.
