Stand Up Shout Out (SUSO) youth-led movement that seeks to bring young people to fight the odds that life brings along with it. It creates awareness about poaching, bullying, corruption, environmental conservation awareness, supporting talent in sports among other causes.

The organization aims to provide a platform for artists to contribute to the society.

They recently organized a concert at Braeburn Gitanga International School to the cause. The concert was headlined by various musical acts, most notably H_art The Band, which is one of the fast-rising bands in Kenya, after their breakthrough with their song “Uliza Kiatu.” Others included Musa The Drummer, a kid from Mathare and One Band from Strathmore University.

The event was stylish and warmly. Bands like Dorphanage took to stage and wowed the crowd. I bumped into Stacey Murage, currently studying at the University of Birmingham.

SUSO is also the Youth Force for Hands Off Our Elephants campaign which is geared against poaching. The movement also partners with schools and corporates to facilitate student workshops.

Take a look at how the event went down and look out for more from SOSU this year.
